  Jill A. Burns, M.D., FAAP


Dr. Jill Burns was born and raised in Tucker County, WV.  She graduated in 1984 as the Salutatorian from Tucker County High School and then went on to study Biology and Medical Technology at Alderson-Broaddus College from 1984-1989, graduating with two separate degrees.  Dr. Burns was also the star athlete on the women's college basketball team, the Lady Battlers.
From 1988-1989, she focused on clinical training in Medical Technology at Altoona Hospital in Altoona, PA.
 
She then moved to Charleston, WV where she worked as a Medical Technologist for 4 years before deciding to attend medical school.  In 1993, she attended West Virginia University Medical School where she graduated in the top 2% of her class.  Dr. Burns was awarded the Glasgow Award for Women in Medicine from The American Women's Medical Society.  She was also elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Medical Honors Society, a very prestigious and sought after award. 
 
Upon completion of medical school, she then moved to Greenville, NC for internship and residency at Pitt County Memorial Hospital. She completed residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics in 2001, and became board certified in both later that same year.  Dr. Burns then moved to Wellsboro, PA where she worked for Laurel Health Systems in an office in Lawrenceville, PA, while also attending to patients in Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital. 
 
In 2004, she moved to Sullivan County and became a hospitalist with Catskill Regional Medical Center where she is currently employed part-time.    She and Dr. Jeff Weinstein shared a vision to open a private practice that would provide quality healthcare with a personal touch.
